In January Daniel founded a new online Jewish journal called The New Vilna Review. Dedicated to exploring themes of modern Jewish identity, the The New Vilna Review features writing from a wide range of scholars, authors, poets and thinkers. Recent content includes an interview with greenprophet.com co-founder Karin Kloosterman, an excerpt from Steven Lee Beeber’s book on the Jewish roots of punk rock music and poetry from Alicia Ostriker and Jaqueline Osherow.

Are These My Lions? has received a very positive review from Fullosia Press. Poem Accepted for Publication
Daniel had his new poem, “Two Things,” published in the Summer 2007 edition of SP Quill Quarterly Magazine, a literary journal based in Excelsior Springs, MO.

2008 Poetry Publication Showcase in New York City to include “Are These My Lions?”
A copy of Are these My Lions? will be on display in the 2008 Poetry Publication Showcase in New York City next April. This exhibition is organized by the literary organization Poets House. Are these My Lions? will also be added to the online Directory of American Poetry Books, which may be viewed at http://www.poetshouse.org/
Bell’s Letters
Daniel recently received a note from editor J. Bell, of the literary journal Bell’s Letters saying that they will carry a brief mention of his chapbook, Are These My Lions?, in their June issue on the “Book Marks” page.
New Poems in Mosaic, a Jewish publication of Harvard College and Harvard-Radcliffe Hillel
Daniel has two poems in the Spring 2007 issue of Mosaic, a Jewish publication of Harvard College and Harvard-Radcliffe Hillel. The two poems are entitled “Quiet City” and “At Night,” and have not been previously published.
Dudley House, Harvard University (5/10/07)
Daniel was one of the featured readers at the launch party for the 2007 Dudley Review, the Harvard University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences literary journal. Since 2004 Daniel has been a member of the editorial board of the review, and this year two of his poems “The Semiotics of Love,” and “Jerusalem, July 2006,” appear in the publication. At this event he read several poems, including “Solitary Prophets” and “Spring, Infernal Spring.” There were many talented writers, poets and artists in attendance at this event.

On Thursday, April 5th Daniel gave a reading at the Somerville Public Library in Somerville, Massachusetts. In addition to reading from “Are These My Lions?”, he shared several new poems with the audience and took time to answer questions about his work.
